Ennahdha: “forming municipal councils away from all forms of political infighting and narrow calculations”

The Executive Bureau of the Ennahdha movement said municipal councils should be formed on the basis of a commitment to “meet the interests of citizens and serve the regions, far from all forms of partisan politics and narrow calculations.

All the attributes of efficiency, coherence and efficiency must be met in order to enable the next municipal councils to fulfill their mission and to honour the commitments to development, service delivery and protection of citizens’ interests, said the executive bureau of Ennahdha which met Wednesday.

In a statement released Thursday, Ennahdha said the party plans to provide training for elected members on its lists and improve their skills and abilities in local governance and management.

Regarding the Carthage 2 document, Ennahdha said the executive bureau has reviewed the results of the recent meeting of experts and closely examined the final document that will soon be submitted to the meeting of the presidents of the signatory parties.

The meeting of Ennadha’s executive bureau also reportedly focused on the decision to move the US embassy to al-Quds and the Zionist entity’s bloody crackdown on the Palestinian people, resulting in the martyrdom of 60 people and thousands of wounded.

The Executive Bureau of Ennahdha calls for the organisation of a march of solidarity with the Palestinian people on Friday in Tunis and urges all freedom-loving people in Tunisia and the world to undertake all initiatives to support the resistance of the Palestinian people and the legitimacy of the Palestinian cause.
