Ennahdha youths call for immediate dissolution of party’s executive board

(TAP) – Young people belonging to the Ennahdha movement called on the party’s leadership “to shoulder the responsibility for the failures to meet the demands of the Tunisian people and the climate of tension and unrest that must be duly assessed, in view of the party’s unsuccessful political, economic and social orientations and the way political disputes and crises have been handled.

These young people call in an internal petition for “the immediate dissolution of the Ennahdha executive board.”

Ennahdha MP Oussama Sghaier, one of the signatories of the petition, stated on Saturday to TAP that a group of young people belonging to the Ennahdha movement had issued an internal petition demanding “the adjustment of the process.”

“After collecting the largest number of signatures, this petition will be sent later to the party’s institutions with a view to reaching effective solutions,” he explained.

The signatories of the petition ask Movement President Rached Ghannouchi to “prevail the national interest and take the necessary measures for the sake of Tunisia to ensure the return to normal operation of the parliament and restore confidence in the parliamentary institution.

They also call on the Ennahdha Shura Council to shoulder its responsibilities and immediately dissolve the party’s executive board. They also call for “a crisis cell, with an acceptable popularity rating, to examine the serious situation in the country to ensure a rapid return to the activities of constitutional institutions and the resumption of the process.”
