Leader in Ennahdha Mohamed Goumani, on Saturday, announced his resignation as chair of the political crisis management committee, a structure recently created in the party.

Goumani held President Kais Saied responsible for the failure of this and other initiatives, accusing him of closing the door to dialogue.

The radical change in the national political scene after the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 117/2021, the suspension of the constitution and refraining from dialogue with opponents put the country at great risk, he wrote in his resignation letter.

Mohamed Goumani called on Ennahdha movement to review its policy and to adopt peaceful actions to get the country “back on the track of democracy.»

President of Ennahdha Rached Ghannouchi had announced last August 12 the creation of a committee to manage the political crisis. The objective is to open channels of communication with the President of the Republic.
