ETAP must be exempted from public management system, says ETAP CEO

CEO of the Tunisian Company of Petroleum Activities (French: ETAP) Moncef Matoussi highlighted the need to exempt this company from the public management system so as to help it access the hydrocarbons exploration and drilling fields.

This exemption will help activate decision-making, invest even outside Tunisia and handle the markets, he told TAP on Friday on the occasion of a seminar on development of export in the energy field.

ETAP must be concerned not only by the export operations but also direct use of the fields thanks to its own resources and means, he added.

The official further estimated that the creation of the company’s branches will help reactivate the hydrocarbon sector in Tunisia, notably in the exploration field in order to reduce the deficit of the energy balance.
