EU affirms willingness to carry on partnership with Tunisia, especially in migration field

A European Union Commission high-level delegation affirmed during a working session held Tuesday at the Social Affairs Ministry seat, the EU’s willingness to carry on partnership with Tunisia. The meeting turned on the Tunisian-European cooperation prospects and ways to further boost them, especially in the migration field, reads a ministry press release. Led by Director General of the Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (NEAR) Gert-Jan Koopman, this delegation is currently paying a visit to Tunisia following the remarks made by European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell: “Everything has to be done quickly, because the situation in Tunisia is very, very dangerous. If Tunisia collapses economically or socially, then we will be in a situation where new flows of migrants will come to Europe. We have to avoid this situation.”
