President of the Republic, Kais Saied, decided to grant a special pardon to 1,221 convicts on the 58th anniversary of Evacuation Day.

This pardon would lead to the release of 271 prisoners among those concerned by the decision. The rest will benefit from a cut in their sentences, a statement issued on Wednesday by the Presidency of the Republic reads.
