External debt servicing reached 1.6 billion dinars at the end of February 2023, up 12% compared to the same period of 2022, according to monetary and financial indicators published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) Monday.
For its part, tourism revenues posted a significant increase of 76%, from TND 352 million in the first two months of 2022 to TND 620 million currently.
This also the case for cumulative workers’ remittances which have risen to 1.2 billion dinars, up 11.8%.
The BCT data also showed a decline in foreign exchange reserves to 22.2 billion dinars (96 days of imports) as of March 3, 2023, compared to 23.4 billion dinars (128 days of imports) on the same date last year.
