FIBA World Cup 2023 – qualifiers – Group B – Day 2: Tunisia lose to South Sudan 64-72

Tunisia’s basketball team lost to South Sudan 64-72, at a FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Group B day-2 qualifier played on Saturday Group B day-2 game of the African qualifiers for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, played on Saturday in Dakar, Senegal.

Tunisia, who had defeated Cameroon 55-51, at day 1 on Friday, will play Rwanda on Sunday.

16 African teams divided into four groups are taking part in these qualifiers played in six windows until March 2023.

In addition to group B where Tunisia are playing, group A is composed of the teams of Cape Verde, Mali, Uganda and Nigeria, while group C is made up of Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Central African Republic and Angola and group D includes the teams of Kenya, Senegal, Egypt and DR Congo.

At the end of the first phase, the top three teams in each group will qualify for the second phase, i.e. 12 teams who will be split into two groups (E, F) while keeping the points secured during the first phase.

The teams will play a two-legged game and the top two teams in each group and the best third-placed team will qualify directly for the World Cup.

The next 32-nation World Cup finals will be co-hosted by Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines from 25 August to 10 September 2023.
