The International football association (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have welcomed the efforts made by the Tunisian Football Federation to implement the video assistance in refereeing (VAR) in the playoff phase of Tunisia’s national soccer League 1, said the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF).

FIFA said in a letter to the FTF it encourages the efforts of the federation and will provide all its support for the introduction of this technology in Tunisia.

For its part, CAF has congratulated the FTF on its positive response, stressing that the Tunisian soccer body will become the third local federation to introduce VAR and is willing to provide all the technical assistance necessary for the success of this experiment in Tunisia.

The playoff phase of the league 1 will begin in March 2022.
