FIFAK 2022 outlines programme

(TAP) – Kelibia International Amateur Film Festival (FIFAK) outlined the programme of its 35th edition due on August 13-20.

Fifak is back after a two-year COVID-19 induced suspension. This annual event is organised by the Tunisian Union of Amateur Filmmakers (French: FTCA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the National Centre for Cinema and Motion Pictures and the Municipality of Kelibia.

The programme was unveiled Wednesday at a press conference held at the City of Culture. The FIFAK opening ceremony is scheduled for August 13 at Zin Essafi open air theatre in Kelibia. Portuguese Amaya Sumpsi’s Between Islands, a 76-minute documentary, will be screened.

Two new competitions will be dedicated to scripts and photos. Eighteen scripts out of 32 were selected in addition to 30 photos out of a total of 160.

The international competition is open to amateur films, independent films and school films of all origin and genres. It includes 37 films, including 5 from Tunisia.

The Faucon d’or is the highest distinction given to the best film. Movies in such genres as fiction, documentary and experimental animation will vie for prizes, in addition to the special jury prize.

Over 100 films will be shown as part of the national competition.
