Finance Committee approves Euros 457.2 million credit agreement between Tunisia and World Bank

The Finance, Planning and Development Committee of the House of People’s Representatives (ARP) on Wednesday approved a credit agreement between Tunisia and the World Bank (WB) worth Euros 457.2 million (Approximately 1,249 million Dinars), to finance a programme to promote the investment climate and entrepreneurship.

This credit will be repaid over a period of 28 years, with a grace period of five years and five months and a variable interest rate of 1.2%. This agreement also provides for the possibility of benefiting from the various hedging instruments available during the credit repayment period either by fixing the interest rate or by changing the currency in which the credit is denominated.

This credit, signed in June 2017 in Washington, will be devoted to the financing of the state budget to strengthen the programme of reforms in the fields of improving the investment climate, Entrepreneurship and opportunities for access to finance, as part of the promotion of economic activity.
