First COVID-19 jab drive for children aged 5 to 11 to continue for week

The first COVID-19 jab drive for children aged 5 to 11, launched Sunday in the various vaccination centres, will continue for a week, Director General of the National Pharmacovigilance Centre and member of the Scientific Committee to Combat Coronavisur Riadh Daghfous said on Tuesday.

He added in a statement to TAP, that the vaccination period was set at one week due to the small quantities of vaccines, pointing out that after three weeks, children will receive a booster shot.

Daghfous reassured parents about the safety of vaccines, underlining that they can take their children with chronic diseases and immunodeficiency and children who wish to do so with the parents’ consent, to vaccination centres without registering on the vaccination platform “Evax.”
