The 1st Tunisian-Libyan Exhibition for Development of Industry and Trade kicked off on Monday in Misrata (Libya), under the slogan: “Libya-Tunisia: the gateway to Africa.
This three-day exhibition, organised by the Tunisia-Africa Business Council (TABC) in partnership with the Misrata Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, will run till January 18 with the participation of over 200 Tunisian and Libyan companies.
The goal of the Tunisian participation is to encourage the national companies to set up in the Misrata free zone, east of Libya, which will help them access new markets, notably the sub-Saharan Africa region.
The exhibition will also help better promote the specificities of the Misrata region, which represents an access gate for the Tunisian companies to Africa, the organisers said.
The event brings together companies from the construction, food, mechanical and electro-mechanical, plastics, pharmaceutical, technology and telecommunications industries, as well as the leather, water treatment, banking and insurance sectors.
The first day of the exhibition will include an opening ceremony chaired by
Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Dbeibah and attended by Tunisian Minister of Public Works and Housing Sarra Zaafrani Zanzari, and a presentation of the Misrata free zone.
