First Tunisian satellite construction to be launched shortly

)- Telnet Group announced on Wednesday that they will create an aerospace centre (Sfax aerospace Valley) and launch the construction of the 1st Tunisian satellite and drones as a part of its co-operation with Japanese and French enterprises.

On the fringes of an international forum on new entrepreneurship horizon organised in Sfax on April 25-26, Telnet CEO Mohamed Frikha said that the new center will be achieved as a part of a tripartite partnership between Telnet, the Toulouse Aerospace Valley (France) and the Sfax Techno-park which will house the centre.

Frikha pointed out that the Tunisian satellite will be ready by 2020 and will be called Challenge 1.

At the beginning of the forum, Telnet signed an agreement with a Japanese enterprise specialised in the manufacturing of drones, by virtue of which Tunisian engineers will start to design these pilotless aircrafts in the Sfax Techno-park.

For its part, the Japanese enterprise will ensure the training, expertise and assistance to marketing.

A second agreement was signed by Telnet and the Middle East Fiber Cable Manufacturing Co. (MEFC) to develop Aerospace services, renewable energy, communication and multimedia.
