Five people died of the coronavirus in Tataouine and 302 others tested positive for the virus, the Local Health Directorate said on Tuesday.
This takes the total number of infections in the region since the outbreak to 8,862 cases, including 314 fatalities.
The new cases are distributed as follows: 105 cases in North Tataouine, 82 cases in South Tataouine, 47 cases in Dehiba, 29 cases in Ghomrassen, 22 cases in Remada, 11 cases in Bir Lhamar, 5 cases in Béni Mhira and one case in Smâr.
