Foreign Minister meets in Beijing with Mahmoud Abbas

Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhinaoui met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday in Beijing on the occasion of their official visits to China.

Jhinaoui stressed on this occasion “Tunisia’s continued support for the Palestinian cause, its support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and their struggle to recover their freedom and establish their independent state with Al Quds as a capital, in accordance with international resolutions and at the initiative of Arab peace, “said a statement of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

He also reaffirmed “Tunisia’s determination to consolidate and diversify cooperation relations with the Palestinian state”.

For his part, the Palestinian president recalled “the important talks” he had in Tunisia last June with President Beji Caid Essebsi, expressing “his warm thanks to Tunisia for its honourable historic positions, its firm support to the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people “.
