A former minister of agriculture, an adviser of his cabinet in charge of governance, two directors at the Ministry of Agriculture, the president of the tender opening committee, two members of that committee and the representative of a company beneficiary of a transaction were taken into custody, on order from the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Judicial Financial Division.

This follows an investigation into suspected fraud in public procurement and money laundering, in a call for tenders regarding computer equipment purchase for the Ministry of Agriculture,” said the press office of the court.

That transaction was worth over 800 thousand dinars, the press release specified.

The first central brigade of the Aouina National Guard has been entrusted with the investigation into this case.
