Former North Tongu DCE Osborn Fenu Dies in Road Accident

Accra: Mr Osborn K. Divine Fenu, the immediate past District Chief Executive (DCE) of North Tongu, has reportedly died in a road accident that occurred on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

According to Ghana News Agency, family sources stated that the former DCE was travelling to Accra after attending a family engagement in his hometown within the North Tongu District. The accident took place near the Central University enclave at Miotso, along the Tema-Aflao highway.

Following the accident, Mr Fenu was rushed to the Tema General Hospital for medical attention but was later pronounced dead.

Mr Fenu served as DCE under the Akufo-Addo-led administration from 2021 to January 2025. Before his appointment as DCE, he worked with the Ghana Education Service as a teacher. During his time there, he was known for his commitment to nurturing young learners and promoting quality education in the district.

He also played an important role during the October 2023 Akosombo Dam spillage, which displaced many residents within the North Tongu District.

Meanwhile, tributes have begun pouring in from residents, colleagues, and political figures who described his passing as a significant loss to the district and the Volta Region.
