Four Tunisian women among MedFund’s Portraits of Active Women in Mediterranean MPAs

Four Tunisian women were named among MedFund’s Portraits of Active Women in Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), published recently.

They are: Director of Coastal Ecosystem Management at the Coastal Protection and Planning Agency (APAL) Samia Boufares, Head of Notre Grand Bleu (NGB) association Manel Ben Ismail, Eco Guard at the NGB association Arij Sadraoui, and President of the Association of the the Continuity of Generations (ACG) Sana Taktak.

The Portraits of of Active Women in Mediterranean MPAs describes the experience and challenges of these women who are strongly committed to the preservation of marine biodiversity in Tunisia, Albania, Morocco and Turkey.

The MedFund initiative is a Mediterranean cooperation platform which currently has 15 members including 6 Mediterranean countries as well as regional civil society organisations.

The MedFund is composed, on the one hand, of States with an ambitious policy in favour of the creation of MPAs and having explicitly expressed their support for the initiative.
