France Aims to Emulate Morocco’s African Engagement – President Macron.

Rabat: French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his admiration for Morocco's strategic actions in Africa, particularly in the Sahel region, during a speech in Rabat. He emphasized that France seeks to take inspiration from Morocco's stability, openness, and development, which he described as unmatched assets. Macron's speech was delivered during a joint session of the Moroccan Parliament, marking his State visit at the invitation of King Mohammed VI. According to Ghana News Agency, President Macron highlighted France's commitment to forging renewed relationships with African nations. He pointed out that Morocco, due to its strategic geography, rich history, and cultural heritage, has long served as a vital link and platform in Africa. Macron stressed the importance of stability and development projects tailored for Africa's youth, aligning with Morocco's approach. Macron also announced a new strategy aimed at enhancing cooperation between France and Morocco in Africa, with a focus on education, agricultur e, ecological projects, digital technology, and energy. He emphasized that this partnership is intended to be a collaborative effort across the continent. The French President acknowledged the historical ties between Morocco and France, noting the significant role Morocco plays as a gateway to Africa. He praised King Mohammed VI's vision for the continent's development and expressed a shared commitment to building a future of prosperity and security for both nations. Macron concluded by stating that the unique friendship between Paris and Rabat presents a historic opportunity and a strategic duty to foster a project that benefits their peoples and economies, extending beyond the European Union and the Maghreb to encompass the entire African continent.
