Francophone University Agency inaugurates new premises in Tunis

The Francophone University Agency (French: AUF) now has its own premises in Tunisia.

Inaugurated on Friday in Tunis, AUF’s new premises will promote strengthening education of Moliere’s language, support Tunisian universities and enhance Tunisian expertise in the digital field.

This structure will also increase French-Tunisian activities notably in the training and scientific research fields.

Hailing this new gain, Minister of Higher education and Scientific Research Slim Khalbous announced that several projects will be implemented as part of a partnership between his ministry and the AUF.

These projects will have an impact on several strategic pillars related to the promotion of employability of higher education graduates, development of the training’s quality, accreditation of Tunisian universities and entrenching the entrepreneurship spirit within young people.

Khalbous further evoked the importance of this co-operation in promoting the quality of the academic training, its openness and its adaptation to new challenges.

A new digital library will be set up as part of this co-operation, Rector at the AUF Jean-Paul de Gaudemar announced while highlighting the value of this future project that will be available to Tunisian students and teachers-researchers.

AUF’s new home will help develop the agency’s presence in Tunisia and will boost its activities for the francophonie.

It will also offer to Tunisian universities, academics, researchers and students a space of solidarity for the development and of innovation of the educational system all while preserving cultural diversity, he indicated.

The new premises will host several operational units of the agency, namely the Francophone Institute for Knowledge Engineering and Distance Learning (French: IFIC) and the Francophone Digital Campus (French: CNF).
