Ga Mantse Travels to United Kingdom for Homowo Festival

LONDON: His Royal Majesty, Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has departed Ghana to attend the Grand Homowo United Kingdom Festival 2024. The visit aims to foster unity among the GaDangme family worldwide and enhance the quality of life within GaDangme communities. According to Ghana News Agency, the Ga Mantse will be welcomed by the Emir of the UK as His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who was initially scheduled to meet His Royal Majesty, is unavailable due to a recent surgery scheduling. The Homowo UK Festival will feature a variety of activities, including cultural events such as '???wala', a thanksgiving service with the Ga fellowship, and the Christian council in the UK. Additionally, the festival will host a business forum and the launch of the Ga Mantse Foundation at the House of Lords, concluding with a special reception at the House of Commons. The Ga Mantse will also be welcomed by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, underscoring a commitment to unity and solidarity among diverse cultural gro ups. The Homowo UK Festival is not only a cultural celebration but also a movement to showcase the vibrancy of African culture on a global platform. The festival's theme this year is to 'help alleviate hunger caused by poverty,' aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2, Zero Hunger. The festival in London is set to be a grand occasion, commencing at 2 PM at Borough Hall, Royal Hill, Greenwich, SE10 8RE, featuring traditional Ga drumming, dances, authentic cuisine, and the warmth of the Ga community.
