Gafsa: 120 projects funded under agreement between CPG and BTS

The Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS) has given its agreement in principle for the financing of 120 projects under the agreement concluded between the Bank and the Gafsa Phosphate Company (CPG).

“Most of these projects, many of which have already been funded since last March, have come into operation or are under way,” said BTS Agency Director in Gafsa, Sabeur Jeridi.

Other projects will be approved by the BTS during the period of the three-year agreement, he said, adding that the number will have to reach 1,000 microprojects in accordance with the terms of this agreement signed since January 2017.

“These projects are co-financed by the CPG, which has set up a financing line of around 10 million dinars for the creation of one thousand small projects in Gafsa,” he said.

“Next year, 800 projects will be approved as part of this agreement, the majority of which are related to the fields of industry and services,” he said.

“The beneficiaries of these credits enjoy many advantages including the non-requirement of self-financing and exemption from interest,” said the same source.
