Fourteen out of the 24 members of the municipal council of Métlaoui (Gafsa) tendered a collective resignation to the governor.

“The absence of dialogue with the mayor and mismanagement of environment issues in Métlaoui are the main reasons behind the move,” resigning member Abdelbasset Hlaiem told TAP.

Under Article 205 of the Local Government Code, a municipal council is dissolved after the expiration of 15 days from notification by the collective or concurrent rsigtnation of the majority of members.
