The mobile vaccination campaign started Wednesday, in the delegation of Sidi Boubaker in the governorate of Gafsa with 92 citizens who received their first dose of vaccine against the Coronavirus.
Launched by the Regional Health Directorate in Gafsa, this vaccination campaign is aimed at the people living in villages, remote localities and border areas of the region.
The choice of the delegation of Sidi Boubaker as the starting point of this campaign is explained by the seriousness of the epidemiological situation with a rate of infection that exceeds 100 cases/100,000 inhabitants, Regional Health Director Salem Naceri told TAP.
According to the same source, the mobile vaccination campaign against COVID-19 will continue until Thursday, July 8, 2021 in all places far from the vaccination centres of the governorate.
In this context, three new vaccination centres against the Coronavirus will be open from Friday, July 9, 2021 in the delegations of Redeyef, Om Larayes and El Guettar, bringing to 5 the number of operational centres in the governorate, according to the official.
Besides, 5 more cases of death have been recorded during the last 24 hours bringing the total number of deaths to 560 people.
The Regional Directorate of Health in Gafsa also announced that 36 additional infections by the coronavirus were detected following the publication of the results of 96 tests, bringing the total number of infected people to 8348 cases.
Currently, 50 coronavirus patients are admitted to the different hospitals of the governorate.
