Gambia’s Economic Promotion Week Launched in Morocco


Rabat – Gambia’s economic promotion week in Morocco was launched, Monday in Rabat, to promote the economic potential of Gambia in the Kingdom in various sectors and to encourage the development of win-win business partnerships between Moroccan and Gambian operators.

This initiative is part of the actions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates to support Morocco’s economic diplomacy internationally, through the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI) and its partners such as the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), the Professional Group of Moroccan Banks (GPBM), Casablanca Finance City (CFC) and the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports (AMDIE).

Gambia’s economic promotion week in Morocco includes events and meetings in Rabat, Casablanca and Dakhla with public institutions and private economic operators, CGEM and sectoral federations, Casablanca Finance City and its business ecosystem, and the Regional Investme
nt Center (CRI) of Dakhla.

The launch of this economic promotion week featured a meeting between the Ambassador, Director General of AMCI, Mohamed Methqal and a large economic delegation from Gambia, on a visit to Morocco on September 9-13.

This meeting, held at the AMCI headquarters, aims to strengthen bilateral economic relations between the two countries.

Chaired by Abdoulie T.B Jarra, Secretary General in the Office of the President of the Republic of Gambia, the Gambian economic delegation is composed of the Director General of the Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (GIEPA), Ousainou Sheikh Senghore, the Director General of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Sarata Conateh and several senior officials from Gambian public and private sectors.
