Accra: George Twum-Barimah-Adu, a Ghanaian businessman and independent candidate, has officially announced his bid for the presidency in the 2024 elections, promising to prioritize "common prosperity for every Ghanaian." Known for his innovative contributions to education and business, Twum-Barimah-Adu aims to transform the nation through a comprehensive review and restructuring of government policies and programs. According to Ghana News Agency, before entering the political arena, George Twum-Barimah-Adu served as the Executive Director of Cypress Investments Limited, a position he held until April 2023. He is also the author of "Behaviour Brings Success," a widely recognized book on HIV and AIDS management, and the creator of several educational games, including the Road User Playing Cards and the Nudu Board Game. Twum-Barimah-Adu's decision to run for president was driven by his dissatisfaction with the performance of Ghana's two major political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National De mocratic Congress (NDC), in achieving the developmental goals set forth for the country since the start of the fourth republic. He expressed a strong belief that it is time for Ghanaians to take control of their future to realize substantial national progress. In his campaign, Twum-Barimah-Adu has committed to critically assess and potentially revamp all significant governmental policies within the first 100 days of his administration. His manifesto includes ambitious policies such as the "Ghana First" initiative, "Agric for Wealth," "Domestic Direct Investment," and a revolutionary "4-Day Work Week" program. These strategies, he argues, will catalyze a major transformation in Ghana, improving the standard of living across the nation. George Twum-Barimah-Adu was born in Old Tafo to a family deeply rooted in Ghana's educational and governmental sectors. He pursued higher education at Florida International University, where he obtained a Master of Arts in International Studies and participated actively in stu dent governance. Twum-Barimah-Adu is also a devout Christian, married with three children, reflecting his commitment to family and faith in his personal and professional life.
