Gomoa-fetteh: The Ghana Association Upstate South Carolina (GAUSC), a group comprising Ghanaians and friends of Ghana based in the USA, recently donated educational materials valued at GHC 20,000 to the Village of Hope Orphanage in Gomoa-Fetteh, Central Region. The donation includes school bags, exercise books, notebooks, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and mathematical sets, aimed at bolstering the educational opportunities for the children at the orphanage. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Charles Agyeman, a representative of GAUSC, personally delivered the educational supplies to the orphanage. During his visit, he highlighted the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and called for increased investment in the sector to ensure better futures for vulnerable children. "Every contribution towards improving the quality of education is a step towards a more educated, empowered, and independent Africa," Mr. Agyemang stated. He also praised the management and caregivers at Village of Hope fo r their unwavering commitment to nurturing and transforming the lives of children under difficult circumstances. Mr. Kwaku Sarkodie, Deputy Managing Director of Village of Hope, accepted the donation on behalf of the orphanage and expressed gratitude to GAUSC. He underscored the impact of the donation on the children's lives and urged more philanthropic bodies and individuals to support the orphanage's continuing efforts to provide essential care. "Many more children out there, and this orphanage needs our help with food, clothing, and education, and we are committed to rescuing and caring for as many as possible," Mr. Sarkodie appealed to the wider community for assistance.
