Ghana Invites Foreign Direct Investment in Tourism Sector


Accra: Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has reiterated that Ghana is open for foreign direct investment in tourism. She emphasized the country’s readiness for such investments that align with Ghana’s tourism vision and national development agenda.



According to Ghana News Agency, the Minister shared these sentiments during a meeting with a delegation from Tourvest Integrated Tourism Group. The meeting aimed to discuss potential collaborations and unveil a major investment drive in Ghana’s tourism sector. Key topics included Tourvest’s operational philosophy, authentic Ghanaian storytelling, and immersive guest experiences at tourist centres.



Madam Gomashie expressed a keen interest in deepening collaboration with Tourvest, focusing on tourism infrastructure development, job creation, and capacity building. She urged the delegation to expedite their proposed investment in the Ghanaian tourism industry to benefit the local population.



Mr Luuhengo Neswiswi, Leader of the Tourvest delegation, highlighted successful initiatives from other African countries, emphasizing cultural integrity and community engagement. He noted that Tourvest’s approach prioritizes local staff hiring, social impact initiatives, and community development projects. He stressed the importance of maintaining open communication to establish Ghana as a centre of excellence for sustainable, culturally grounded tourism that empowers communities.
