Tamale: The 2nd World Shea Expo 2025 is set to take place in Tamale, located in Ghana's Northern Region, as announced by Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, the Director for Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness at the Office of the President.
According to Ghana News Agency, the event is being organized in collaboration with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Savanna Golden Tree Limited, and the Northern Regional Coordinating Council. Dr. Otokunor made this announcement during a visit to Nuts for Growth Ltd, an agro-processing factory specializing in shea and soya products in the Northern Region.
Dr. Otokunor emphasized that the Shea Expo 2025 will underscore the government's commitment to rural industrialization and highlight the important role of the shea industry in transforming Ghana's economy. He described the expo as a strategic platform aimed at driving value addition in the shea sector, attracting investments, creating sustainable jobs under the 24-Hour Economy initiative, and increasing the country's foreign exchange earnings.
The expo is anticipated to focus on advancing the shea value chain, covering all aspects from harvesting and processing to export and innovation. It will feature exhibitions, policy dialogues, investment pitches, and product showcases, all dedicated to strengthening Ghana's stance in the global shea industry.
