“Golden Butterfly” by Abdelhamid Bouchnak will represent Tunisia in Oscars 2022 (CNCI)

The Tunisian film «Golden Butterfly» by Abdelhamid Bouchnak has been chosen to represent Tunisia in the Oscar race for best international film at the 94th Oscars 2022 ceremony, announces the National Centre of Cinema and Image (CNCI) in a press release on October 12.

The film “Golden Butterfly” was selected by a commission set up under the aegis of the CNCI, which convened on October 12 under chairmanship of CNCI Director General Slim Dargachi and composed of the following members:

Jalila Baccar,

Ridha Behi,

Taoufik Jbali,

Khmaies Khayati,

Hbib Belhedi,

Hbib Attia,

Tarek Ben Chaaben,

The Oscar shortlist will be announced on February 8, 2022 and the final vote will be on March 22, 2022.

The 94th Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled for March 27, 2022 at the Hollywood Dolby Theater & Highland Center and will be broadcast live to over 200 territories worldwide. The prize was awarded in 2021 to the film “Drunk” by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg.
