Goldfields Appoints John Kwasi Adingelah as Senior Manager for Environment and Laboratories

ACCRA: Goldfields Ghana has announced the appointment of Mr. John Kwasi Adingelah as the Senior Manager for Environment and Laboratories. Mr. Adingelah will oversee environmental management practices at the Tarkwa and Damang Mines, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements to support business sustainability. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Adingelah's responsibilities will also include managing the environmental and assay laboratories. His appointment, effective October 1, 2024, places him under the supervision of the Vice President and Interim Managing Director of the company. With over 14 years of experience in the mining industry, including 12 years in managerial roles at Damang, Mr. Adingelah brings extensive expertise in sustainable development, climate change, rehabilitation, mine closure planning, and laboratory management. Mr. Adingelah began his career at Gold Fields in 2010 as a Senior Environmental Officer at Damang and has since advanced through various positions, including Environmental Superintendent and Unit Manager roles. He possesses an MSc in Environmental Science and a BSc in Chemistry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. His professional qualifications include certificates in health, safety, and environmental management, as well as membership in the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) UK and the Society for the Environment UK. Mr. Adingelah is also a certified lead auditor for ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 management systems.
