Goods and currencies valued at over 430 MD seized

The services of the Customs Directorate-General seized in the first half of 2017 goods worth 434 million dinars (MD) in local currency and foreign currency estimated at over 7MD.

According to the Customs Directorate-General Wednesday, 3,021 minutes worth over 134MD were reported by the Customs Guard services, edging up compared to 2016, knowing that the overall value of the seized assets in the first eight months of 2016 had reached 82.6 MD.

The brigade of customs surveillance and research filed 355 legal cases with an overall value of seized goods estimated at 300MD, that is up by about 50% compared to 2016. The overall value of seized goods reached 146MD in the first eight months of the same year.

The various customs offices and customs guard services seized during the first half of 2017 foreign currencies equivalent to 7,233.938MD illegally circulating through illegal import and export or held without any legal evidence.
