“Government is called to meet at least some demands of secondary education teachers” (Tabboubi)

“The government is called to meet at least some demands of secondary education teachers after the concessions presented by the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) for students, by deciding to resume classes and handing marks to the administration before the relaunch of negotiations,” said Monday UGTT Secretary-General Noureddine Tabboubi.

“The ball is now in the government’s court,” he pointed out in a statement to the media a few minutes before the start of the 1st negotiating session with the government.

Tabboubi underlined that the UGTT wants a dialogue that satisfies a minimum of demands claimed by teachers and preserves their place in society.

The negotiation session started Monday morning at the headquarters of the Education Ministry, in the presence of Noureddine Tabboubi, members of the General Secondary Education Federation on the one hand, and the Ministers of Education, Finance and Social Affairs.
