Governmental decree presenting implementing texts of new Startup Act looked at

“A government decree containing the implementing legislation of the new Startup Act was presented to the Prime Ministry for review Minister of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy, Anouar MaArouf said Tuesday.

He underlined, on the occasion of the 2nd edition SMARDI’s organised by the Zitouna Bank on the “Startups Development, which responsibility for Banks” that a Fund of Funds to ensure the financing and support of Tunisian startups is in the process of structuring.

He added that a dozen development funds will be created from this fund to cover all start-up value chains (financing, support …).

Anouar Maarouf said that the adoption of the new Startup Act has helped to make Tunisia shine in Africa.

He recalled that Tunisia has become, since May 2017, a member of the Smart Africa alliance, which currently has 17 countries, international organisations and private partners, on the sidelines of the 3rd edition of the “Transform Africa” event. Summit 2017 “held from 10 to 12 May in Kigali (Rwanda).

“Tunisia will have, as a flagship project to promote the development of startups in Africa,” said the minister.

In this connection, Tunisia will manage a fund of financing African startups of $ 500 million.
