Accra: Asante Kotoko snapped their four-game losing streak with a win against Aduana FC at the Nana Nana Agyemang Badu I Stadium on Sunday. Albert Amoah and Patrick Asiedu were on target for the Porcupine Warriors as they recorded a remarkable victory in Dormaa against the formidable ‘Ogyaa’ Boys. It was certainly a respite for Kotoko Coach Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum, who was under intense pressure following their dreadful run of form over the past five games. The Porcupine Warriors moved to seventh on the league table with 18 points, while Aduana FC lie 13th with 12 points.
According to Ghana News Agency, Accra Hearts of Oak couldn’t make it four wins on the roll as they were held 1-1 by Nsoatreman at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Stephen Diyou opened the scoring for the away side in the 12th minute, but Hearts of Oak midfielder Salim Adams restored parity five minutes later. The Phobians stayed in sixth on the league table with 19 points, while the Nsoatremans, who are winless in five, moved down to
11th.
Nations FC lost at home for the first time in 22 matches after losing 1-0 against Berekum Chelsea on Sunday. Stephen Amankona’s 18th minute strike from the penalty spot was enough to give Berekum Chelsea all three points and end their four-match winless streak.
Medeama SC continued their decent away form after beating Young Apostles 2-0 at the Wenchi Stadium on Sunday. A goal in each half from Derrick Fordjour and Prince Owusu handed the ‘Mauve and Yellow’ a vital win on the road.
