GPL Week 7: Hearts Hold Dreams to Draw; Kotoko Continues Unbeaten Streak

ACCRA: Accra Hearts of Oak maintained their five-game unbeaten run with a goalless draw against Dreams FC at the Tuba Astro Turf, advancing to ninth place in the Ghana Premier League standings. Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko secured a narrow victory over FC Samartex 1996, preserving their undefeated start to the season. According to Ghana News Agency, the draw left Dreams FC languishing in the bottom three, still searching for their first win of the season. In contrast, Asante Kotoko's win, courtesy of a first-half goal by Albert Amoah, kept them in second place with 14 points, trailing league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars by a single point. The Gold Stars bolstered their position at the top with a convincing 2-0 victory over Aduana Stars. Berekum Chelsea also maintained their unbeaten record, achieving the week's largest margin of victory by defeating Legon Cities 3-1 at Golden City Park. Goals from Stephen Amankona, Hubert Gyau, and Emmanuel Sarpong ensured the win for the Blues, with Suraje Yusif netting a consol ation for Legon Cities. Elsewhere, Medeama SC edged out Nations FC with a solitary goal from Osah Bernadinho Tetteh at the TNA Stadium. Other results from the week included Karela United's 1-0 win over Heart of Lions, Nsoatreman FC's 2-0 triumph against Basake Holy Stars, and a 1-1 draw between Vision FC and Bechem United. Additionally, Accra Lions FC and Young Apostles FC played out a goalless stalemate.
