Dambai: Ms Sophia Essel, a graduate of the Dambai College of Education 2023 batch, has inspired women with her emotional story of resilience and triumph, to enable them to persevere towards achieving their aspirations. Sharing her emotional story of financial battles during her education, Ms Essel revealed in an interview that she faced difficulties paying tuition fees, buying educational materials and constantly worried about financial stability. According to Ghana News Agency, Ms Essel described her school days as being filled with feelings of inadequacy and uncertainty about her abilities. She continually battled a fear of failure and disappointment, struggled to balance academic pressures with personal expectations, and often questioned her worth and purpose. Her story sheds light on the challenges faced by many young women in the educational sector. Ms Sophia also elaborated on the societal expectations she encountered, such as the pressure to prioritise marriage over education and to conform to tradit ional gender roles. She discussed the family obligations and responsibilities she had to manage, along with the fear of judgment and criticism. Despite these challenges, Ms Essel emphasized the importance of education as a gateway to financial freedom, urging women not to let financial struggles deter them from their dreams. Ms Sophia encouraged women to explore financial aid options, maintain focus on their academic goals, and prioritize education and personal growth.
