Great actor Romdhane Chatta passes away

The Tunisian cultural and artistic scene has lost great actor Romdhane Chatta who died on Wednesday night after a long battle with the disease.

Known as Hmidatou” in the TV series “Mhal Chahed” in the years 70 to 80 alongside great actress Dalanda Abdou, the late is a leading figure in the Tunisian theatre and television.

Besides his role as “Hmidatou”, the deceased played the successful character of the teacher in the play “Marshal Ammar” alongside the late Hamda Ben Tijani in the mid-1970s.

He also played a character in the play “Sakr Koreich” a production by the Tunis city troupe.

For more than four decades he left his trace in TV series, including El Khotaab al beb “in the 90s.

In the cinema he starred in Omar Khlifi’s the Rebel (1968) and “fi bilad el Tararani” by Hammouda Ben Hlima, Hedi Ben Khlifa and Ferid Boughdir.
