Accra: Reverend Michael Okine, Senior Pastor of Perfecting Faith Chapel, has issued a strong caution to Christians, urging them to avoid diluting their faith in God with reliance on alternative sources such as mediums, fetish practices, or human wisdom. He emphasized the necessity for true faith to remain singular and undivided, warning that partial or mixed faith produces no results in the Kingdom of God.
According to Ghana News Agency, Rev. Okine made these remarks on Sunday during Day Seven of the Mid-Year Booster, a two-week spiritual programme organised by Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministries International (REPLIB), My Father's House, Dansoman, Accra. He highlighted the importance of faith being more than just a verbal confession, insisting that it must be demonstrated through action. Citing the example of the four friends who assisted a paralysed man in reaching Jesus by making an alternative path through a roof, he emphasized that faith requires active engagement.
The Mid-Year Booster, which began on June 23 and concludes on July 6, 2025, is themed 'Revive Us Again, O Lord' (Psalm 85). This annual flagship event, led by Bishop Dr. Yaw Owusu-Ansah, Accra West Regional Overseer of REPLIB, aims to rejuvenate the spiritual lives of congregants and prepare them for the year's second half. The programme features seasoned gospel ministers providing prophetic insight, revival fire, and grace impartation, serving as a period of spiritual recalibration through prayer, worship, and prophetic declarations.
Rev. Okine drew from Luke 5:17-26, referencing the story of the paralysed man and his friends, to encourage believers to anchor their faith solely in God for accelerated breakthroughs and enduring spiritual renewal. He stressed that preparation and righteous living must accompany faith, asserting that prayer is ineffective without faith. He further emphasized the importance of ethical conduct in achieving one's goals, quoting Matthew 11:12 to remind the congregation of the need for persistence amid adversity.
He advised against using dishonest or unlawful means to achieve success, stating that faith should not be a justification for resorting to unholy methods. Rev. Okine also called for kindness among believers, referencing the compassion shown by the paralysed man's friends, and assured the congregation of God's reward for every act of love and sacrifice. The service concluded with a period of intense prayer, prophetic declarations, and Spirit-filled worship.
