Head of State Assesses Environmental Situation in Monastir

Monastir: President Kas Saed paid an unannounced visit at midnight on Wednesday to the governorate of Monastir, where he assessed the serious environmental situation in the Gulf of Monastir. He visited the beach of Ksibet El Mediouni, which was recently affected by an ecological disaster. On site, the President spoke with local residents, who voiced deep concern over the dire environmental conditions.

According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, President Saed then proceeded to the "Sayada-Lamta-Bouhjar" wastewater treatment plant in the town of Lamta. The plant has been under scrutiny due to its impact on the local environment and ongoing issues with wastewater management. The President's visit aimed to evaluate the current state of the facility and its operations.

Following his assessment of the wastewater treatment plant, the President continued his visit to the Sayada area. This region has been facing mounting challenges related to environmental degradation. Local authorities and residents have been urging for immediate action to address the situation, as it poses risks to both public health and the ecosystem.
