President Beji CaA�d Essebsi, on Tuesday, deemed “imperative” to speed up the review of the Local Government Code and to create the optimal conditions to successfully conclude the municipal elections, scheduled for next May.

At his meeting in Carthage Palace with Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives Mohamed Ennaceur, the Head of State called for mobilisation for the success of the next elections, said a statement of the Presidency of the Republic.

The meeting also focused on the general situation in the country as well as the Parliament’s action plan for the next period.

The municipal elections were set by the election commission for May 6, 2018. The security and military should vote on April 29, 2018.

Applications will be submitted from February 15, 2018 until February 22, 2018.
