Head of State meets Algerian writer Kamel Daoud

President Beji Caid Essebsi received, on Tuesday at Carthage Palace, Algerian writer and journalist Kamel Daoud who is in Tunisia to attend the 34th edition of the Tunis International Book Fair.

Algeria is the guest of honour of this edition held on April 6-15 at the Kram Exhibition Centre, under the theme We Read so to Live Twice”, a Presidency of the Republic press release reads.

Daoud expressed delight to take part in this edition. He commended the successful democratic transition process initiated by Tunisia which has prioritised the culture of consensus to resolve major contentious issues, he said.

Some 775 publishers representing 32 Arab and European countries, including 126 Tunisian publishers and 259 exhibitors from 25 Arab and European countries, including 111 Tunisian exhibitors are taking part in this edition.
