The Health Ministry denied the country’s health system collapsed, amid an alarming spread of the coronavirus.

The system is able to overcome the difficulties and emergencies thanks to the efforts of health personnel and the solidarity of all components of the society, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.

Combined efforts, the purchase of equipment, oxygen-supported beds and intensive care beds and the instasllation of field hospitals have helped the health system to resist, overcome the obstacles and provide treatment for patients.

The country is waging a real war against the pandemic, requiring pooling all efforts continuously, the statement added.

Tunisia is seeing an unprecedented wave of coronavirus spread nationwide, with a surge in the number of infections and hospitalisation, as well as a high death rate.
