Hearing session for PM, July 20

The House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR)’s office decided to hold a hearing session for Prime Minister Youssef Chahed on July 20.

According to HPR Speaker Mohamed Ennaceur, the plenary session will be devoted to assess the anti-corruption plan implemented by the government and to review the general situation in the country.

The draft law on the punishments of offences against servicemen will be held next Wednesday, Ennaceur added in a statement to the media at the end of the meeting.

The HPR office will further review the work schedule for the upcoming weeks and decided to carry on holding the plenary sessions all week long including Saturday in order to advance in reviewing draft laws.

The issue of holding an exceptional session was not raised during this meeting but the idea is not dismissed and will be reviewed during the next meeting, Ennaceur said.
