HEC Challenge: TreeDoptia project takes top prize

TreeDoptia project team took the 14th HEC Challenge’s top prize.

Held each year by the Institute of High Business Studies (French: IHEC), the contest consists in carrying out entrepreneurial projects. It involves multidisciplinary teams of engineering and management students who have completed their curricula.

The project seeks to break the network of intermediaries between farmers and consumers, project initiator

Zied Debbich Saturday told TAP at a prize-awarding ceremony.

A team working on a project of a farm with a variety of animals to end the isolation of autistic children won the second prize, Project Coordinator Amina Tarchla said. The project will be implemented in Nafzaoua, governorate of Beja.

The third prize was given to a project that consists in converting coffee grounds into fertilisers.

Minister of Vocational Training and Employment Faouzi Abderahmane underlined the importance of instilling the culture of entrepreneurship in students. He also said a Cabinet meeting will be held shortly to adopt the national employment strategy.

IHEC President said HEC Challenge is meant to encourage entrepreneurship. These projects were selected on the grounds of their operationality, he indicated.The prize-winning projects will be tabled to businessmen and bank representatives to obtain financing.
