TUNIS: The High Committee for the Acceleration of Public Projects, chaired by Prime Minister Kamel Madouri, has approved the submission of two major projects for investment in the regions of Sfax and Mahdia. This decision, made during the committee's seventh meeting at the Kasbah on Wednesday, aims to expedite the selection of investors and initiate construction following the resolution of key issues. According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, Minister of Public Works and Housing, Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, provided an update on the progress in overcoming challenges related to the development of the northern coasts of Sfax and Ben Ghayadha in Mahdia. The High Committee has addressed several outstanding issues, particularly concerning the liberalisation of land ownership, to facilitate the investment process. The Prime Minister emphasized the need for enhanced coordination among ministries to ensure the timely completion of these projects. He highlighted the importance of aligning efforts with the President's dir ectives to improve performance, adhere to deadlines, and overcome legislative hurdles to drive economic progress. The development project for Sebkha Ben Ghayadha encompasses 142 hectares, while the northern coastline project in Sfax covers approximately 420 hectares with a 6-kilometer coastline. These details were previously published in February by the Ministry of State Property and Land Affairs, outlining the real estate status of the two projects.
