Hohoe: A total of 500 students who participated in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) have each received essential educational materials, including ‘chop boxes’, bedsheets, pillows, and student mattresses, to support their transition to second-cycle education. The beneficiaries of the ‘Education for All’ project are from both private and public Junior High Schools, having achieved scores ranging from aggregate six to aggregate 20.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, the Member of Parliament for the Hohoe Constituency, emphasized that education is the fundamental tool for societal transformation, forming the foundation for prosperous communities and strong nations. He noted that the project aims to expand access to quality education and create equal opportunities for every child in the Constituency, demonstrating a commitment to investing in young people’s futures and supporting dedicated teachers.

de the Hohoe Education Endowment Fund, designed to support talented yet financially challenged students across all education levels, ensuring that no child’s aspirations are hindered by financial difficulties. Additionally, the SMART Lab Project aims to equip schools with modern technology and learning tools to foster digital literacy and prepare students for 21st-century challenges.
The Internet for All Initiative is another component, providing reliable internet access to all schools across the Municipality to bridge the digital divide and connect students and teachers to boundless knowledge and opportunities. The Teachers’ Awards and Motivation Programmes celebrate teaching excellence and offer incentives to enhance morale and performance, recognizing teachers as the backbone of the education system. Furthermore, the Teachers’ Housing Project seeks to address accommodation challenges, particularly for teachers serving in remote areas, to motivate and retain qualified educators where they are most needed.

Tsekpo highlighted that in less than a year, over 200 students, including PhD, Masters, Degree, and Diploma candidates, have benefited from three scholarship schemes across fields such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Law, Education, Governance, and Business Administration. These efforts represent real investments in human capital, expected to yield long-term benefits for both the Constituency and the nation. He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders committed to building a constituency where no child is left behind and every student has the opportunity to achieve their highest potential.
Mr. Prosper Kumi, the Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive, commended the MP’s unparalleled commitment to education in the Constituency. He assured that the Assembly would work towards achieving all developmental plans and urged parents, teachers, and stakeholders to ensure high educational outcomes, especially in academic performance. He expressed hope that the number of beneficiaries within the a
ggregate range would increase next year.
Mr. Victor Kovey, the Hohoe Municipal Director of Education, expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries to the MP. He added that the Directorate would collaborate with stakeholders to enhance BECE performances from 2026, aiming to put the Municipality on the national academic radar. He also announced plans to initiate the Best Teachers’ Award in the Municipality to motivate teachers towards quality teaching. Additionally, the three best-performing BECE candidates received full scholarships from the MP for their second-cycle education and tertiary level studies.
