Hohoe: The Hohoe Ghana Presby School has emerged as the winner of the Lead Connect Global quiz competition held in Hohoe in the Volta Region. The school distinguished itself by scoring 87 points, surpassing six other competing schools in the highly competitive event known as ‘Bright Yao Afeku’s maiden edition.’
According to Ghana News Agency, Fodome Woe/Agbetsido M.A. Basic School secured the second position with 85 points, while Gbi-Atabu came third with 77 points. Alavanyo Agorme E.P. Primary School followed closely with 76 points, Holy Rosary R.C. Primary School achieved 73 points, St Francis Demonstration Primary School garnered 63 points, and Gbledi Gborgame R.C. Primary School concluded with 62 points.
Mr. Bright Yao Afeku, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Lead Connect Global and CEO of Bright Wondowtech Limited, highlighted the importance of education as the foundation for development across nations. He emphasized the role of Lead Connect Global in empowering young minds as a vital responsibility for societal transformation.
For the past month, Lead Connect Global has been conducting voluntary teaching outreach in various communities including Wli Todzi, Wli Agoviefe, Fodome Hloma, Fodome Ahoe, and Gbledi Gborgame. Mr. Afeku described the outreach as both humbling and inspiring, noting the determination and resilience of learners alongside the dedication of their teachers.
The partnership between Bright Wondowtech Limited and Lead Connect Global, which began in 2022, has resulted in impactful programs such as ‘A Talk with the Experts.’ These initiatives aim to inspire students, expand their horizons, and ignite their ambitions by engaging with Senior High Schools.
Mr. Afeku stated that the quiz competition represents another milestone in their joint mission to promote academic excellence, critical thinking, and healthy competition among the promising young minds of Hohoe.
Mr. Victor Kwaku Kovey, Hohoe Municipal Education Director, praised the competition for highlighting the outstanding performance of learners. He applauded the organizers for selecting Hohoe as the venue, contributing to the ongoing educational development of learners.
Mr. Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, Hohoe Constituency Member of Parliament, reiterated his commitment to enhancing educational outcomes within the Constituency. He discussed proposals for constructing 20 ICT centers and establishing staff quarters to encourage and support teachers.
In addition, Mr. Tsekpo mentioned a proposed award scheme for teachers to foster competition among them, aiming to improve the overall quality of education in the Constituency.
