Hotel occupancy rate in Monastir 118%

The Monastir region is currently accommodating 22,630 tourists with a 118% hotel occupancy rate, Regional Tourism Delegate Faouaz Ben Halima told TAP on Friday.

The number of arrivals in the region rose by 14.6% between January 1st and July 31st compared to the same period in 2016.

The tourism commissioner is expecting booking to continue at the same pace in September 2017 in light of the increase in the arrival of Algerian tourists (280%), French tourists (230%), German and Belgian and the stable number of Russian tourists compared to 2016 and the return of British tourists.

The number of currently operating hotels has reached 36 units, the same source added.
